A few miles outside the city lies an oasis called Vintage Village. Its website promotes it as “a one stop restaurant for a Traditional Gujarati thali for your fine dining pleasure and a functional place for your total events.” Hang all that, though the food is not bad at all.
The whole point of my going there had nothing to do with the food, but to do with the fact that, there within the premises were more than a hundred of such beauties as Rolls Royces, Bentleys, Lagondas and other magnificent machines. This is where the more than 100 classic cars of the Pranlal Bhogilal collection is housed. For the cognoscenti, this collection is a must, absolute must, visit.
Each car is kept in really good condition, and all of them are run regularly to make sure that they are in running condition.
My favourite is this magnificent green Hispano Suiza fitted out for hunting – I managed to get the guardian to take a pic of me trying to look like I was the owner, with no success I must confess.
