My new book in the Plastics series – on Polyester

I’ve just completed the fourth book in a series on commodity plastics with extremely wide and diverse usage.

Over the last few years, I’d written on Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE), and PolyVinyl Chloride (PVC), all commissioned by Reliance Industries Ltd. This last one is on Polyester, one of the most popular sources of apparel in the world. This has now been completed and published by Mapin, Ahmedabad, and is once again commissioned by Reliance.

These are all written and designed as coffee-table books, so that they can appeal to a lay reader in the plastics industry rather to just an audience of experts.

Here are some pictures of the pages as printed:

I really enjoy working on projects such as these. The scope is to present the industry and its applications on a global scale, but in a very reader-friendly manner and presented in a very attractive way.

These books are distributed by Reliance to colleges, engineering and business schools, industry peers and partners and other stakeholders in the industries in India and abroad. So far, these books have been very well-received, which is good news to me.

About thecrestedjay

I am passionate about football, jazz, classic rock, classic movies, crime, science fiction and P G Wodehouse. And also about NBA, western and Indian classical music. Since the wife will also read this blog, I cannot reveal my other passions in public. Have one son who plays the guitar, spent some time as an animator and now works for a digital marketing and advertising company. I also have one (1) wife. I spent a lot of my time on my music and books collection. I also have a passion for travelling but not a great deal of time and money to spend on this. Hopefully, in the future, I'll be able to do so.
