Euro 2012 – The War of the Soothsayers

After my post “Euro 2012 – a word from our dumb chums” (read it here) hit the Net, I got calls from many quarters, mainly Poland and Ukraine.

One person, claiming to be the manager of Funtik (aka Khyrak) the hog threatened me with dire consequences for not featuring his client’s photo and/or video. Before things get worse, here’s the HOG himself, high-fiving one of his fans at the Euro.

I also messed up by not mentioning the many other soothsayers making life easier for fans, and most of all, football pundits. Here’s Kev the psychic chicken from Kiev.

And then there’s the sad case of Yvonne the runaway cow. She became a media sensation after bolting from a cattle shipment on the way from Austria to Bavaria in May 2011.

But as a soothsayer, her first act was to predict Germany’s defeat. Even as I write this, she may have restarted her career as a long distance runner all over again. Read all about her here.

About thecrestedjay

I am passionate about football, jazz, classic rock, classic movies, crime, science fiction and P G Wodehouse. And also about NBA, western and Indian classical music. Since the wife will also read this blog, I cannot reveal my other passions in public. Have one son who plays the guitar, spent some time as an animator and now works for a digital marketing and advertising company. I also have one (1) wife. I spent a lot of my time on my music and books collection. I also have a passion for travelling but not a great deal of time and money to spend on this. Hopefully, in the future, I'll be able to do so.
